The famous Sebring MKIIB #2 has been given a unique rendition by AFX. Instead of showcasing the car in its pre-race glory, we have opted to depict it at the exact moment it crossed the finish line. Upon close inspection, you will notice three distinct anomalies. First, there is a paint scuff that has been verified through multiple documented photos of the car during the race. Secondly, the discolored and oddly shaped roundel has a story behind it. A friend of the team at the time provided us with the information that these roundels were made from a special 3M material, which was significantly more reflective, allowing for better visibility during pit stops. However, the rigidity of the material required them to be attached with pop-rivets, the silver dots around the roundels. Lastly, the silver mark across the door handle is a tale told to us directly by Carrol Shelby himself. During the race, at speeds well over 100mph, the left-side door handle was lifting, and in an effort to keep the door in place, the team duct-taped the handle. This solution worked, and the mark is a testament to their ingenuity.
